Centennial Park will come alive tomorrow as NAIDOC week 2020 opens with a free family event.

The festival will include live music and performances with the Ngadju Dancers, Elder’s Gospel Choir and Red Sand Beat Band among the acts.

Organisers said there would be free food available, with traditional bush tucker and a community barbecue starting at 11am.

There will also be market stalls, face painting, workshops and bouncy castles.

The event starts at 10am with State Aboriginal Affairs Minister Ben Wyatt officially opening the week of festivities with City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor John Bowler and a traditional welcome.

This year’s NAIDOC week theme is “Always was, always will be”. The list of events in Kalgoorlie-Boulder is available online at https://www.kalgoorlietourism.com/whats-on/event/140176-naidoc-week-celebrations.
